The Max Launch Abort System (MLAS) has successfully carried out a pad abort test launch from NASA’s Wallops facility on Wednesday morning. Meanwhile, back at the Kennedy Space Center, the Ares I-X test vehicle is set to begin stacking operations inside the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) on Wednesday evening.

With Atlantis deep in processing for STS-129 – and damage evaluations continuing on window 5′s pressure pane – engineers in OPF-1 (Orbiter Processing Facility 1) continue to prepare Atlantis for her scheduled November 12, 2009 launch to deliver the Express Logistic Carriers 1 and 2 (ELC-1 and ELC-2) to the International Space Station.

Arianespace were back in action on Wednesday, with the launch of their Ariane 5 ECA and a single passenger, the TerreStar-1 communications satellite. Launch from the European Spaceport in French Guiana was delayed by a storm that passed over the center, and several technical issues, before launching at 17:52 GMT.

STS-127′s External Tank (ET-131) has completed a tanking test on the realigned Ground Umbilical Carrier Plate (GUCP) and a two-part seal, with no leaks detected. As a result, NASA is officially a go for a launch attempt of Endeavour on July 11.
