The European Space Agency (ESA) have signed two key contracts with NGL Prime S.p.A. of Italy, one for the definition of launcher system concepts for the European Next Generation Launcher and the other for the development of a European Intermediate eXperimental Vehicle (IXV).
The experimental lifting body vehicle will launch on the new Vega launcher from Europe’s spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana. The debut flight is set for 2010.

The ESA (European Space Agency) space telescope COROT has launched on Wednesday, via a Soyuz 2-1B launch vehicle, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome at 2:24pm UK time (9:24am Eastern).

The European Space Agency (ESA) MetOp-A (Meteorological Operational satellite programme) satellite has finally launched on top of a Soyuz ST Fregat launcher again Thursday.
Overall it was the sixth attempt to launch the new version of the workhorse Soyuz launcher, which was using a digital system for the first time.

The Elektron-VM oxygen generator on the International Space Station (ISS) is working again, following two previous attempts to re-start the equipment.
The ISS crew successfully activated the troublesome generator on the third attempt yesterday in 32 amp mode, after air bubbles were compressed out of the system.
