The European Service Module (ESM) is part of the necessary hardware to bring people back to the moon. It will not only be used to power Orion on the Artemis I mission, but on the missions to come as well.
In the first interview, NASASpaceflight had the opportunity to talk with Kai Bergemann, Deputy Programme Manager for the Orion ESM. In today´s second part, NASASpaceflight got to talk with Matthias Gronowski, who is the chief engineer of the Orion ESM at Airbus in Bremen. He joined the Orion program in 2014 as the head of systems engineering and chief engineer.
