Russia’s Proton rocket made its first flight in almost three years on Thursday, carrying the Elektro-L No.5 weather satellite into orbit. The launch, expected to be the last time Proton flies with a Blok-DM upper stage, took place at 08:52 UTC from Site 81/24 at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
